Packard-Bell 5DA (1948)
This compact AM radio sports streamlined styling in the grille and knobs. It runs on 110V AC or DC. Some parts of the country still used DC house current at the time. Packard Bell was started in the 1930s making radios in Los Angeles. They soon expanded into television production. The company lasted into the 1960s, and later the name was bought and used as a brand for low cost personal computers. Apparently, they sold more than a few PCs to customers who thought the company was connected to Bell Labs or Hewlett Packard.
